Karen H. Richardson, Author
You’ve clicked on this page no doubt because you’re a little curious about Karen. We could share something intrinsic about Karen like how her impressions of the world impact her writing. But what you really want to know is who is Karen as an everyday person. If you asked her to describe herself, that is the first thing she would tell you. She’s an ordinary person with a strong work ethic who loves to write. She has always observed the world as a running narrative and encounters with others as fodder for a story. Perhaps the best way to get to know Karen is to hear from two of her closest friends.
“She hates to shop, and can be found running errands on a Saturday without any makeup on whatsoever.”
Darlene, a friend since high school.
“She pushed through when life gets tough. She’s a planter…planting seeds in hearts and in the ground. Karen is rooted in her Creator, even as she uproots and forms beautiful gardens.”
Lindsey, a friend from church
Both statements are true. Karen doesn’t like to shop unless she needs to, and she loves to garden.
Below are some other fun facts about Karen:
She is a faithful believer in Jesus Christ. She will be the first to share her imperfection and the perfection of her heavenly Father. His grace is sufficient, and He has proven this over and over in the Bible and Karen’s life.
She is a life-long learner and a huge proponent of education. After 20+ years as a marketing and communications professional, she decided to go into project management. This required studying and passing the PMP exam, which she did while working full-time. Three years ago she was hired as an IT Project manager.
She can’t stand to stand back and watch someone else work. She believes in helping where she can and is a consummate volunteer for her church and organizations with worthwhile missions.
She believes in setting goals every January and reviewing them every May (her birthday month). That’s how Curtains for Maggie was completed and published. She set a goal to get a rough draft done during NANOWRIMO. In 23 days a very rough draft was done. In 2022, she set a goal to find a publisher, and with the Lord’s help, she found Elk Lake Publishing and pitched her book.
